Despite having an exemplary wine reputation, Château d’Arsac is also a meeting place for creative contemporary art. Since 1992, the property annually acquires an art piece or sculpture signed and created by a renowned international contemporary artist. They are placed throughout the winery, chateaux and vineyard, or, as Mr. Raoux prefers to say, in the Garden of the Sculptures.

Phillipe Raoux organizes annual art expositions by renown contemporary artists. In 1989, the Peter Stuyvesant Foundation was the first to exhibit part of their collection at Château d’Arsac. Consequently, the vineyard, winery and château have become the home to 20 monumental sculptures, the most important collection of contemporary art in the Médoc.

The Garden of the Sculptures hosts dozens of art works and sculptures. Art pieces from renown and notable artists such as Niki de Saint Phalle, Mark di Suvero, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Claude Viallat, Jean-Michel Folon, Pierre Buraglio, Bernard Pagès, Jim Dine, Susumu Shingo, Laurent Cerciat, Rotraut Klein Moquay and Bernar Venet are to be discovered trough tours arranged at La Winery (The Vine Side Tour) and by Bordeaux’s Office of Tourism (Art and Wine Tour). On June 29th, New York’s talented artist Mark Di Suvero inaugurated his piece Fire Jump.

Château d’Arsac’s cultural and art orientation has led it to be awarded 3 times the prize of “Best of Wine Tourism” by The Great Wine Capitals Association. The château was also attributed the award for the Art and Culture category in 2004, 2005 and 2010 by the Best of d’Or International Wine and Viticulture association. Furthermore, the Chamber of Commerce of Bordeaux has twice attributed the prize of “Best in Art and Culture” to Château d’Arsac and its Garden of the Sculptures.
